ROSEVILLE VISITORS ASSOCIATION NAMES JULIE LARSON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
(Roseville, MN) - October 2, 2006
The Roseville Visitors Association (RVA) recently announced the appointment of Julie Larson as Executive Director. Larson has a long history working within the Twin Cities hospitality community, serving as Vice President of Convention Sales and Marketing for the Saint Paul RiverCentre Convention and Visitors Authority (RCVA) for six years and as Director of Sales for Embassy Suites Saint Paul for ten years. She has recently worked as a sponsorship consultant for the Saint Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation and the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce. While at the Saint Paul RCVA, she established the Saint Paul Sports Council, an entity which markets the Saint Paul area as a premier destination for regional and national amateur and professional sporting events.
It was Larson's familiarity with sports marketing and the community which intrigued the selection committee headed by RVA Vice Chair, Michelle Rein, General Manager of the Residence Inn by Marriott and Board Chair Dan Wall, Partner with Greenstein, Mabley and Wall, LLG.
"Julie's expertise in sports marketing and her successful track record in the hospitality industry make her a perfect fit for the Roseville Visitors Association," said Wall.
"She will be a welcome burst of energy as we continue to grow our services and link our business and hospitality community to visitors to the Twin Cities area."
One of Larson's first priorities will be to market the Guidant John Rose Minnesota OVAL to regional and national sports groups. She will also be charged with promoting Roseville's hotels, shopping facilities and attractions to leisure and group tour markets.
"I am very excited to join the Roseville Visitors Association as Executive Director, as leading such a dynamic hospitality organization is natural progression in my career in the tourism industry," said Larson. "I am especially excited to develop a sports marketing program for the Guidant John Rose Minnesota OVAL and to promote such wonderful facilities as Rosedale Center, the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and top-notch hotel properties.
The Roseville Visitors Association was established in 2000, and markets the area's nine hotel properties, attractions and special events to visitors, tour groups and corporate meeting planners. True to its tagline "Perfectly Positioned," Roseville is conveniently situated just north of downtown Saint Paul and Minneapolis, just minutes from the Twin Cities' major museums, theaters, attractions and major league sporting facilities.
